Northern Colorado Wildlife Center Named Best Animal Rescue of Northern Colorado by NOCO Style

December 2024

FORT COLLINS, CO-We’re honored, humbled, and full of gratitude: Northern Colorado Wildlife Center has been officially awarded Best Animal Rescue of Northern Colorado by NOCO Style Magazine—and we couldn’t be prouder of what this recognition represents.

This award isn’t just a plaque or a title. It’s a celebration of the thousands of wild lives we’ve rescued, rehabilitated, and released. It’s a reflection of the passionate team that makes our mission possible, and it’s a symbol of the growing community that stands behind us in defense of Colorado’s native wildlife.

At the heart of this recognition is our co-founder and executive director, Tallon Nightwalker, whose leadership, compassion, and tireless advocacy have made Northern Colorado Wildlife Center not just a rehabilitation facility—but a movement for wildlife education, rescue, and long-term ecological impact.

“This award is about every animal we’ve cradled back to health, every call we’ve answered, and every person we’ve educated along the way. Wildlife rehabilitation is not just about saving individual animals—it’s about healing the bond between humans and nature.”
Tallon Nightwalker, Executive Director

Since launching, the Center has grown into a trusted hub for injured and orphaned wild animals across the region—responding to thousands of emergency calls, conducting youth education programs, and developing one of Colorado’s most forward-thinking training pipelines for future wildlife rehabilitators.

From raccoons and owls to foxes and snakes, we believe every species deserves a second chance. Being recognized by the NOCO Style community—readers who care about who’s doing the hard work—is a tremendous affirmation of that belief.

To Our Supporters: Thank You.

This award belongs to you too. To the donors, volunteers, veterinarians, interns, and followers who have lifted us up: thank you for believing in this mission. Your compassion is what fuels every successful rescue and every released life.

We’re excited to continue growing, educating, and expanding our reach in 2025—with more hands-on training programs, more community events, and even more wild lives saved.

Together, we’re proving that Northern Colorado doesn’t just coexist with wildlife—we stand up for it.
